Our Ranking Methodology
When families search for the best assisted living centers in Las Vegas, they want more than just marketing brochures or online reviews. At Best Assisted Living Centers, we use a transparent, evidence-based approach to help families make informed decisions.
Our methodology is designed to highlight facilities that provide safe, high-quality, and supportive environments where residents can live longer, healthier, and happier lives.
How We Collect Data
We pull from publicly available, verifiable sources as well as independent feedback:
State inspection reports → Each facility in Nevada is licensed and inspected by state regulators. Violations, fines, and corrective actions are reviewed.
CMS data → Medicare and Medicaid data where available, especially for centers with dual certification.
Resident and family satisfaction surveys → Feedback from those who live in or have placed a loved one in the facility.
Staffing ratios → Number of staff per resident, staff qualifications, and turnover rates when available.
Published safety data → Reports of falls, wandering incidents, infection control, and medication management issues.
We continuously update our data as new inspection reports and feedback become available.
How We Weigh Categories
Safety & Compliance (35%)
Inspection reports, violations, infection control, fall prevention, and wandering incidents.
Weight: Highest — because resident safety is non-negotiable.
Staffing & Care Quality (30%)
Staff-to-resident ratios, qualifications, turnover rates, and training programs.
Facilities with lower turnover and better-trained staff score higher.
Quality of Life & Resident Satisfaction (25%)
Survey results from residents and families.
Social programming, autonomy, and mental well-being.
Facilities where residents are engaged, happy, and respected rank higher.
Environment & Amenities (10%)
Cleanliness, home-like environment, dining options, accessibility.
Amenities that support dignity and independence are valued, but they are weighed less than safety or staffing.
How Scores Are Calculated
Each category is converted into a 0–100 scale.
Categories are then multiplied by their corresponding weights (listed above).
The final score is an overall composite rating (out of 100).
Example:
Safety: 92 × 0.35 = 32.2
Staffing: 85 × 0.30 = 25.5
Quality of Life: 90 × 0.25 = 22.5
Environment: 80 × 0.10 = 8.0
Final Score: 88.2 / 100
This weighted system ensures that safety and staffing carry more weight than cosmetic features, such as landscaping or marketing claims.
Why This Helps Families
Choosing an assisted living center is one of the most important decisions families will ever make. Our methodology:
Cuts through marketing noise by relying on inspection reports and data.
Prioritizes what matters most: safety, staffing, and quality of care.
Builds transparency and trust, allowing families to understand why facilities rank the way they do.
Supports better decisions by making information easy to compare.
Our goal is straightforward: to help families find facilities that are safe, compassionate, and of high quality, so their loved ones can thrive.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why isn’t my facility listed?
We start by publishing the top facilities in each city based on available data. Not all facilities are included at launch. Facilities can submit updated information for consideration, and we review all valid requests.
Q: Do facilities pay to improve their rankings?
No. Rankings are based on independent scoring and cannot be purchased. Facilities may sponsor enhanced profiles, but sponsorships do not alter scores.
Q: How often are rankings updated?
We update rankings whenever new state inspections, CMS data, or verified survey results are released — typically at least once per year.
